IMPORTANT PATIENT INFORMATION: CHANGE IN PROVIDERS
From the 1st January 2020, the services at The Hodge Hill Family Practice will be provide by Eden Court Medical Practice.
Why are things changing at my GP Practice?
The NHS recently undertook a procurement process to appoint a provider to deliver medical services at The Hodge Hill Family Practice. As of the 1st of January 2020 the services at The Hodge Hill Family Practice will be provided by Eden Court Medical Practice.
What is going to happen next?
Eden Court will be starting work immediately with the existing doctors and staff to get ready to run The Hodge Hill Family Practice from 1 January 2020.
The services patients currently receive from The Hodge Hill Family Practice will continue and will continue to be delivered by many of the existing practice staff, in the same building.
Do I need to do anything?
No, you do not need to do anything. You will continue to receive primary care services, as normal, despite the change in provider.
Weekday appointments will be available between 8am-6.30pm at Hodge Hill Family Practice. Evening and weekend appointments are available at Harlequin Surgery – please book these as normal through the Hodge Hill reception.
Who are Eden Court Medical Practice?
Eden Court has been delivering healthcare to the people of Castle Vale and the surrounding area for more than twenty years. They have a robust team of doctors, nurses and other staff, many of whom have worked there from the beginning.
Eden Court maintains a patient first policy and places a great importance on continuity of care, valuing the relationships that form between patients and their surgery. They also manage two large nursing homes and have expertise in this field.
Eden Court are heavily involved in research and teaching, having close links with the Universities of Birmingham and Aston, and teaching students as well as training doctors to become general practitioners for the future. They see promoting mental health and wellbeing as an important priority, and celebrate diversity and inclusivity for all.
IMPORTANT CHANGES to repeat prescription ordering - From 12 May 2019 pharmacies will no longer be able to order prescriptions on behalf of patients at this practice.
This change has been agreed to improve safety for patients and reduce medicines waste.
If this change affects you please make arrangements to order your own prescriptions from the surgery.
You or your carer can request repeat prescriptions in several ways, including:
- By post
- Dropping your request in to the prescription box at the surgery
